Re: Researchers Find Biological Explanation for Wheat Sensitivity

Wow, Rita...Thank you for putting all of this information together! (It is so nice to read you again!) I had no idea that people with gluten sensitivity (who do not have Celiac's) were thought to be imagining or "making-up" their symptoms. What is up with doctors thinking people are faking illnesses...

Re: To halt the spread of Lyme, Nantucket residents consider genetically engineered mice

Re: Drug Combination Active against Amoxicillin-Induced Round Bodies of In Vitro B. burgdorferi Persisters

Hello everybody! I haven't read or written on this site in a while, but when I read the discussion on page 7 of this thread (entire post copied and pasted below) about the Lyme persisters being just a mathematical probability left-over or whether they have significance, I had to chime in. (*edited t...

Re: Expanded Study Confirms Lyme May Be Sexually Transmitted

hv808ct, why do you care so much if some people believe Lyme is a sexually transmitted disease? Does it hurt you? or the patients? or society? You seem overly upset about what is really just an exploration of a theory. Surely, you can't think that you know everything there is to know about B.burgorf...

Thank you for posting this, Rita! It says that the article will be available after 6 months via a Creatve Commons license. Does anyone know if this means anyone can read it for free? Does anyone know where to get the full article now? If anybody catches any other articles on this subject, please pos...

Re: Publish-Palooza! Post by velvetmagnetta » Mon 25 May 2015 7:33 From the Marques paper: Many tests for Lyme disease are being performed in patients with low likelihood to have the disease, a situation in which a positive result is more likely to be a false-positive. Whenever I see this statement...

Re: Researchers Find Missing Link Between the Brain and Immu

Wow. What a find, ChronicLyme19! This may very well have everything to do with Lyme disease - especially the neuro-type. One of my most excruciating symptoms was this strange sort of feeling that some kind of fluid was getting stopped up in my spine creating an intense pressure in my sinuses that wo...

Re: Borrelia burgdorferi persister cells

Wow. Just...wow. What, no smarmy Rel-Risk remarks? I have a question about this paragraph: For example, patients who develop arthritis, which typically begins after 1 month of untreated infection, often do not respond fully to a first course of 28 days of antibiotics. The majority of these patients ...
